We are still here!

It has been such a long time since I've posted!! I can't really blame anything specific on my lack of posting...The kids are great and growing! We've been battling cold after cold and Briggs got his first ear infection - in January - and we are STILL battling it... he's on his 3rd antibiotic and we started an allergy medicine - Clariton - to try and dry things up. His antibiotic kills the infection but the fluid is lingering and eventually turns into another infection a week or 2 after his antibiotic is gone. It's been very frustrating and we don't want to do tubes since he never had an ear infection as a baby and got his first one at 21 months and now he's almost 2 and spring is right around the corner, but with his ci's we don't want fluid and infections lingering around in there either. He has allergy symptoms so that would give an explanation to the lingering fluid and the allergy medicine is definitely working! He is snot free and happy again and then I take him to daycare this morning and the little girl who he always plays with is sicker than a dog with a cold.... here we go again... it's just a matter of days I'm sure. :(

Briggs is doing AMAZING with his hearing. He is testing above average for his current age level both receptively and expressively and average to above level of both for a 2 year old! SO exciting! He's talking away and it's just music to our ears! He LOVES our Kindermusik class and we still have an average of 4 to 5 teaching visits per week. We keep very busy!! Briggs will be celebrating his 1st hearing birthday on April 1st. It's amazing to think back on this past year. He has come SO far and just to think about everything he has learned in only 1 year of hearing! He is currently OBSESSED with the movie Cars! He cannot peel his eyes off it! TV time is not ideal for a deaf child but we have to let him be a normal kid sometimes too so we cave once in a while. When Elli was his age, she loved Open Season!

We are ready for nice weather so we can get outside and play!!!!

Elli is loving school and this week we register her for Kindergarten! It's hard to believe we're to this stage. It has gone very fast! Elli is such a joy to be around! She has such a sweet little personality. She's very caring and a happy little girl. Pre-school has been such a great thing for her and she loves all of her new friends. It will be sad to leave them but happy to have met them!! It is a fantastic pre-school program and we are excited for Briggs to start in a year.
