Briggs swinging. We hung a swing from the tree in our front yard when Elli was a baby and it has come in very handy! Elli and Briggs LOVE being outside!!
My sleeping beauty! I love this picture of her and you'll notice her baby all snuggled up right close to her. I just kept kissing her cheeks. I'm surprised she didn't wake up.
Nick's hat is his pride and joy. Those who know him know that he wears only one hat (for everything) until it's disgusting and falling apart. Well his NY Yankees hat finally bit the dust last fall and this is his new one. Briggs and Nick play the hat game.
Briggs standing in his crib. He's just starting to pull himself to standing and Nick just lowered his crib but it looks like he'll need to lower again. What's new with us... well we're patiently awaiting for surgery scheduling to call us with a surgery date for Briggs. They said possibly toady we'd get the call but with how everything has been going... on not getting my hopes up. Of course as soon as I hear I'll post!
Nick and I moved into our neighborhood 4 1/2 years ago (which doesn't seem possible) and on the day we moved in, our neighbors who lived directly across the street brought us a plate of cookies and welcomed us to the neighborhood. Elli was 3 months old when we moved in and Jennifer was due any day to have their 4th child. We knew from another neighbor that it was going to be a little girl and we were very excited that Elli would have someone to play with. Over the last 4 years Jennifer and I spent many days visiting when the weather was nice, watching the kids play and getting to know each other. Elli literally asked every day since she learned how to talk if she could go play at Sierra's or if Sierra could come to our house to play. It's been a challenging week for Elli and I because this past Monday they left for Wyoming. Kyle got a great job working at a camp that connects fathers and sons on a spiritual level while doing outdoor activities. As we are SO, SO happy for them and wish them nothing but the best we are really missing them. Every night Elli asks why they had to move, and why won't they be coming home, and she really misses them. She asks about every hour if she can call Sierra and thank her for playing with her. Her eyes fill up with tears and it's heartbreaking to see that. They are an amazing family with great values. Unfortunately this day in age it is difficult to find good role models for your kids. Good role models are definitely out there but it's harder to find them. These kids always respected their parents, never complained or wined, and most importantly, appreciate the little things in life and accepted everyone for who they are. I LOVED their influence on Elli. They handled this move with strength and excitement. Of course each day will get easier and we plan to go visit them and write letters and keep in touch, but right now it is hard.
